How does Twezr Help?
Twezr is a beautifully simple application
that allows you to spot who in your mailing list bounced. You simply:

Save your bouncebacks in outlook as a
text file (highlight them all then select file->save as), then
tell Twezr where this is saved.

Point Twezr at your mailing list (either
an excel, csv or tab
delimited file - this could be exported
from your CRM system).

In the advanced options you can type
the name of the column in your
mailing you want to use to identify bouncebacks, and enter the message
you want Twezr to put in that column against the e-mail addresses
that bounced (Twezr will add a new column if
none is selected).

Press the Twezr button and watch
it go. Twezr will identify all the e-mail
addresses that bounced in the spreadsheet by giving them a yellow
background, and adding the requested comment in the requested
column. Twezr can also number the times that they've bounced.

If you use a CRM system, you can
import this back in using the instructions provided within the Twezr
Help Files. This is particularly quick and easy with Goldmine (using
export, then Twezr, then import followed by a merge/purge) and
SalesForce (using Excel
Connector), and in systems like Act and Maximiser you can use
'tagging' in lookups to identify all the records that bounced and
perform a single mass 'replace field' function to mark them all as
bounced.

How to unlock your demonstration
version of Twezr

Firstly, download the free trial
version.

Then, in the help menu you will find an
option called "Register Twezr", select this.

Press "E-mail Key Request"
button. This will e-mail Boost a code unique to your PC. Please also
state how you would like to pay*.

You will then receive an unlock key
to paste in here.
*Please note, credit card not yet
accepted (sorry), but to make up for this we can accept an order number
by e-mail and offer 10 days credit to all limited companies.
Why deal with bouncebacks?
There are three main reasons why you
should identify
bouncebacks:

They can get you blacklisted -
If an e-mail account sends 500 e-mails in an hour, that is nothing
worth raising the alarm about, however if that same account receives
100 bouncebacks in a minute, then that is. ISPs are right to look
for spammers, but often at the expense of legitimate emailings. They
have learned to raise the alarm
when bouncebacks exceed a certain allowed threshold. I have
personally been blacklisted for sending a legitimate e-mailshot and
it was not nice.

They offer you a chance to save
time and money - In business to business marketing in
particular, most bouncebacks are caused by people
leaving. If you use your mailing list for telemarketing or postal
direct marketing then you could waste significant time and money
phoning or posting letters to people who have left.

They distort your statistics -
For example, if you send 500 e-mails and get 200 bouncebacks how
many messages got through? After all, some invalid addresses generate three
or more 'status updates' before the actual bounceback message. Some e-mail tools offer you reports quoting "number
of e-mails opened" but this is meaningless these days as Outlook blocks
the tracking techniques used to generate these reports.
What's wrong with using e-mail

Bouncebacks can be captured automatically
by advanced e-mail marketing tools and services. The attraction of the high-end approach is that it allows
you to create highly
graphical communications and run reports on open/read/clicked etc. There
