Liz Barnes, a principal consultant at Boost Marketing, has amassed a wealth of experience in the areas
of award entry writing and impact evaluation through helping Boost clients gather compelling evidence for award submissions, improve their measurement processes, conduct surveys and prepare for scrutiny by awards judges. As a Chartered Marketer, her background combines strategic consulting with workshop facilitation and even university lecturing. |
In 1994, Liz moved from client-side employment to consulting and training, specialising in marketing communications. In this capacity, Liz has successfully combined hands on marketing with training and lecturing.
Liz’s training and lecturing background includes short courses in topics such as market research, marketing strategy and planning, business referral networks as well as professional programmes such as the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) courses, Diploma and Certificate in Management Studies (DMS) and BSc Business and
Finance.
Liz carries with her a passion and enjoyment of all the work she undertakes; motivating and inspiring the delegates, managers, directors and business owners with whom she works. As a mentor and workshop tutor, Liz has a warm and encouraging
style.
Consultancy experience
Liz has provided consultancy/facilitation services for clients such as Cisco, Oxford University Press, EDF Energy, Oxford College of Marketing, Lister Healthcare, Fire Service College, Sussex Enterprise, Business Link Kent, Surrey Oaklands NHS Trust, Macmillan, Haymarket, P&O Ferries, Multiplex and Land Securities.
Client-side experience
Liz’s marketing management and training experience started with classic FMCG roles with Express Dairies, Trebor and with Kimberly Clark as European Marketing Manager for Kleenex tissues overseeing the launch of the Kleenex Ultra brand. She joined Eurotunnel in the early 1990s to help launch their new holiday business venture.
Voluntary experience
Liz is Chair of CIM Sussex, widely regarded as a flagship branch of the institute, servicing the CIM membership and local business community with first class marketing events that are more often than not packed to capacity.
